P4: Aunt Florie

Aunt Florie
February 2, 2017
I lived life
Compassionately and opinionated
Audaciously, I was liberated.
Truth be told I only wanted to live
until the age of 45
I always thought that getting old
was overrated
But I loved living life
Beautiful and vibrant
Foxy and neat
Always encouraged others to be the
best
They could be
I was lively, smart and bold
I enjoyed my family, parties,
and live shows
I had a lot of fun and I like to
joke
The mantra "Live Life" is
synonymous with my name Florie Reid
And just like the early birds
I loved to sing
Libations and celebrations
You enjoyed life with me
So mourn only a little
As I’m alright here
You’ve all provided me joy
For that I’ll hold dear
You no longer have to worry
I’m more than ok now
I’m never too far
Just look beyond the clouds
My life has not ended
It has just begun
My advice to you is live life
So you’ll have stories to tell
Because where I am is where you’ll
come
Whenever you see a cat, say hello
for me
Give my great, great grand kids a kiss
Remember me, as I will remember you
In my heart you are all missed.

Blessings pop up anywhere . . .
So yesterday I'm on one of my favorite websites, "Cooking Light" and as I'm scrolling looking for recipes, I see this ad pop up. What do you know, it's me! I couldn't believe it. An ad from Reverbnation promoting me. This has never happened to me before. I'm so blessed. God is always using poetry to constantly change and add to my life. If you would like to check out the song Reverbnation is promoting me for, its called "Frozen" by Wolfgang Amadeuz ft. Cera Bellum and Until, please click the link below:

Dreams " I took a break" part I
Hold fast to dreams
For dreams do die
If you not hold on as tight as you can
Forever you will cry
Feeling un-successful
Potential is just that
Pinnacle un-tapped
and everyone around you notices that
Some of those that you've helped
Will talk behind your back
While others will be happier than you'll ever be
All because excuses sung from your lips
Like the favorite mantra to sing
Life will be life
There will always be something
You're supposed to expect it as you push
So that when surprises arise
they affect you with nothing
You must, you must focus
Like zombies in trances
So you can beat the dark cloud
and your eyes will no longer
Leak and speak of sadness
So what must you do? Seek your passion.
Never mind the obstacles in your way.
Thrash them.
Mind your lips. Quiet your tongue.
Sharing your dreams with others
No longer work for you
Thine will shall be done
Discipline, determination, drive, apply.
So the next time they see you
Your accomplishments should reek in the air
and you'll find that your completion begets non-gossip
and rolling of thee eyes
Envy and jealousy will merge
Because secretly they thought
You were all talk
But secretly you've snapped out of your procrastination
With excitement and great urge
With greatness as your destination
Now, their feeling some kind of way
because you've peaked faster in six months
than they have in one year
Maybe it's because they thought they had
all the time in the world
While you thought you were running out of time, oh dear!
But they didn't know that you've been through so much
that it just stifled you a bit.
This was really your pace before all of the tragedies happened.
Now, they realize, they were never on your level in the first place.
As you never left the top. You just took a break.
For dreams do die
If you not hold on as tight as you can
Forever you will cry
Feeling un-successful
Potential is just that
Pinnacle un-tapped
and everyone around you notices that
Some of those that you've helped
Will talk behind your back

"Gotta Go- Gotta Leave" -Inspired by Vivian Green
Premise: The song "I Gotta go. I Gotta Leave." by Vivian Green came out the year of 2005 and somewhere during that time I had just become affiliated with "Poetry Over Music" as I was reintroducing myself to my first love, poetry. Now, Poetry Over Music was a new movement to get people to listen and become again inspired by words first, then music.
When I came along they were already strong in numbers of Poets and Spoken Word artists and had made a CD. They were not for sale, promotional items only, for people to enjoy. However, they were in the process of creating another CD, called Poetry Over Music presents "Different Shades of Love" Volume 2. Now, how it was set up for us, they sent out a list of songs and it was on a first come, first serve basis.
So, you would pick your selection and if you got it first, you must write a poem for the song you you've selected. Record it, send it and they would play your poem then the song or vice versa. I, picked Vivian Green's "I Gotta Go. I Gotta Leave." I was featured on that CD and to my surprise, rave reviews and now it has become a fan favorite. I love this poem, it speaks to so many hearts, especially mine. Without further ado, I give you....
"I Gotta Go-I Gotta Leave"
I sing the chorus of Vivian Green's same titled song:
I gotta go. I gotta leave.
So please don't make this hard for me.
I gave enough. I'm tired of love
I gotta let it go.
--Then begin...
I've been with you more than a few years now;
and I just realized, that I'm done. Just realized
that I've spread myself too thin. And,
Since no one is looking out for me, including you.
I decided that this victory belongs to you.
So you win!!! (applause)
For a moment, (I ain't gonna' lie) I was mad at you.
But then I thought to myself, well why am I mad at him?
Because I'm the one who decided to stay and work things through.
Because I should have a left the minute I began to feel it in my gut.
That I had, had enough; and I was no longer in love.
Now, I got the nerve to be angry , 'cause I've invested my time,
Over exhausted my mind. Stayed with swollen eyes, due to you making me cry.
Emotionally drained.
Heart palpitating with pain.
All the while trying to please you. I was going insane.
But you know what else I realized?
It was fear why I stayed.
For I was using my tears as an outlet
So mine leaving would be delayed.
But a long time ago I once told you that.
When my tears no longer drop,
that is when I have stopped
to assess, to see what I need to do
so that I can get where I need to be
and I've concluded that;
I Gotta' Go-I Gotta' Leave

Frozen
See, I remember when I looked out for everyone.
But I also remember when no one looked out for me.
Same ones in my face, call me if you need anything;
The minute I asked, dismissed and ignored.
Didn't like how that felt
Stop feeling down on myself
No longer will I ask for help, anymore.
Yes sa' the streets have taught me.
My trust is no longer fun and free.
I became cold from others dissin' me
Rise like the Phoenix
I Rise...
Individual with foundational feet
Frozen is how I've become to overcome defeat
No favors here. Sorry.
If there was ever a chance
It is now depleted
This takes place when peeps take my kindness for weakness and use me
Deceitfully sweet and discreet
However now you see
That do to you. I am NO longer me.
No compassion
I am....

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening By Robert Frost
Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep

Art Of War "Street Canvas"
I'm Steady & Ready, I'm Suited & Booted, Got My Mind, Body & Spirit Loaded With Ammunition, I'm Ready For This War That's So Artistic & Vivid & Ruthless & Horrific, That You Can't Help But Be Interested, Amazed,Disappointed, Pissed Off & Worried Bout The Things That's Going On Around You.
You See These Streets Are My Canvas & I Am The Painter, But Lately The Boys In Blue Who Ride Around In Those White & Black Victoria's, Have Been Masquerading As Painters & There Gun Seems To Be There Paint Brush & Blood Seems To Be The Object Of Display, Left The Body Of "Mike Brown" Laying In The Street After You Stood Over Him & Shot Him Multiple Time, Now You Got A Mother Crying Her Heart Out Cause She No Longer Has Her Son To Hold.
So You Famous Now & I'm Sitting Here Saying "F!@$ Your 15 Minute's" Of Fame Cause Your Fame Has So Much Shame That It Over Shadows The Life Of My Skin Color, So Its True That "They Don't Really Give A F!@$ About Us" But I Promise That Black Lives Matter.
The Art Of War: A Black Man Woke In The Morning, Decided To Put On His Cameo Pants, Said I'm A One Man Army, Took A Picture & Posted It With The Caption That This May Be My Last Post, Said I'm a Kill Me A Cop Today, He Walks Out, Closed The Door Behind Him, Hatred On His Mind So Heavy, He Pulled His Gun Out, Let Off A Couple Shots Now Two Officers Are Dead & So Is He.
You See That, Karma Is A Bitch Rite? You See What Goes Around Comes Around, But Two Wrongs Don't Make A Right But It's Open Season For Retaliation I'm Screaming "Don't Shoot, I Can't Breath" But My Question Is Can You?
You See We Live By The Sword, But Die By The Gun, We Live By The Sword But Die By The Art That Were So Supposed To Let Art Imitate Us..
Yeah Our Imagination Is Something Else, But Reality is A B!@$%. #Spoken

A Better Person by Until...

"Writing helps to keep me in perspective. It helps me recognize my wrongs, it guides me to do right. I can't live without it." ~ Until... (From my upcoming book in 2014)
I let my pen take a ride on the highest flight of my feelings
I let my pen take a ride on the lines toward my spiritual healing
Inking out perspectives and analyzing all of my imperfections
Writing them down one at a time, dividing them into sections
What ever impacts me, I find time to take notes
I then recap by reviewing what it is I just wrote
And I see that writing down my feelings is the perfect antidote
for me to become a better person

Tired of losing... by Until...
I have life only because two people chose
To have the mistake that they made
Then before the decision
It was God's choice to give me life
So in the month of May on the 23rd day
I was born
So unfair that I had no say
In the choice that was made
I was sent here by two people
That I don't even know, strangers
Giving me orders and I'm made to obey
Taught not to stray from the teachings
Of the people I call my parents day to day
Now, that I know that God say's I'm chosen
Then I'm going to hell if I so happen to break
The laws he has created not to be broken
This life has nothing to offer me but I should appreciate it
I know not why bad things happen to me but I must not question it, just take it
I am to know that bad things and evil spirits will lurk to bother you
Even though I may not ever understand why
Just know that those things or spirits will attack you
I find this quite funny that life is something I'm supposed
To cherish for it can be taken away in a second of a heartbeat
And the life that I cherish, I love, I live, actually means nothing because I don't have the control of my life to keep.
If Im being good, why entice me to be bad
I'm I'm not bothering you, why must you provoke me to make me mad
I've giving hearted why must people take from me
If I'm trying to do GOD's WILL, why can't people let me be
If I've already went through a struggle in regard to one type of situation
Why must I go through the same struggle of the same situation
Before it can be one of the things in my life to go through the process of elimination?
How come I can't go through things and graduate to a new level
Like when you play certain games
Why must I stay stuck on the same level
And can never win to change
I'm tire of losing

Release by Until...

"This is how I deal with writer's block. LOL!" ~ Until...
(From the upcoming book "I Just Want to Write!" this April of 2014)
I'm not feeling good
I can't get the pain to ooze from my lips
I can't cry--so I just sit
Waiting for creativity to hit
So I can take advantage of the outlet that I'll get
But I gotta' feel it
Believe it
In order to spill it
To release how I feel about my pain

How to Love
Do you remember when Love was a mutual feeling between two people?
Tit for tat, if you, then I
You have to, I don't
But I'm asking whatever happened to your whole feelings in the situation?
Oh me, oh my, I sigh
Because whoever said that Love had to be a routine
and whoever said that Love had to be an order or an obedient command
Whoever told you that Love had to be mean
or anyone else that Love is a certain demand
I got lost about the definition of Love a long time ago
Besides Love to me is not what you say
It's an action that some people just don't know
I used to know Love once, but I dare not know it now
It's been so long that I can honestly that I've almost forgotten how...
How to Love.
But now it's more like, if you Love me, then I'll love you.
Or you say it first and then I'll say it to you.
People categorize Love as you do for me and I'll do for you

Beautiful (All of the time) by Until...
Dedicated to Brian O'Neal: (A poem to go with his song called "Mesmerized")
Hey everyone!!! Today was the first day that I heard this song and it made me feel so free, so beautiful and sexy. It made me feel at peace, but I guess that's the power of music and the beautiful
people who create it. I've fallen in love with this song and I just wanted to say thank you to Brian O'Neal for bringing forth that feeling that lives inside of me being free from all of the burdens that sometimes life can bestow upon me.
and the day is as beautiful as a bird in the sky
enjoying the fragrances of the field of flowers that I am standing in
barefoot while my toes flirt with the grass and the dirt
As vibrant, colorful butterflies constantly flutter by
I feel so sexy, so radiant, I'm so thankful to be alive
My eyes are lightened by the sun
I am really enjoying me
Enjoying all that God created me to see
Becoming one with every breeze
Happy to finally be free
To feed the swans in the lake
Interact with the ladybug on my hand
A blue jay on my shoulder and together we stand;

mesmerized, as we watch quietly the willow trees sway back and forth
Bringing forth the winds to refresh the land
of the ever blazing heat ~ I love how nature speaks
I believe that this is how life is supposed to be...
Beautiful (All of the time)

My Words by Until...
*From my upcoming book "I Just Want to Write!" 2014: Pre -order your copy now, www.untilnomore.net.

I want my words to last forever, eternity.
I want my words to never be forgotten.
I want my words to live through generations for generations.
Used as examples and given as samples
Used as references for explanations
Constantly used repetitiously, repetitive
Recycled through books and books at a time
Through past, present and all futuristic minds
And as they are being used it will be positive
For all who will read it and use it to live by
The words I once spoke and meant with all of my heart
Forever written to journey through lives

Sonia Sanchez (My Haiku) by Until...
"For those who are not familiar with what a Haiku is; it is a Japanese way of writing a poem which is written in 17 syllables divided into 3 lines of 5, 7, 5. I love Haiku's, which is why I had to get her book "Morning Haiku". Below is My Haiku celebrating Sonia Sanchez" ~Until...
I just love the way

only willingness which means I'm subjective to anything.
